According to an [ ], the green river was caused by fluorescein sodium, phượng hoàng cổ trấn a type of non-toxic dye which was released in the water to measure the streamflow.
It was part of a plan to build a waterway connecting the river with a nearby reservoir, the authorities said.
'Fluorescein sodium is non-toxic and non-damage,' the notice read. '[It] is easy to dissolve under light and kynghidongduong.vn would naturally vapour within a short period.'
The authorities said they had also temporarily stopped the water supply for the county while examining samples from the river.
Once the samples passed the testing, residents would be able to use the water again, phượng hoàng cổ trấn according to the statement.
It is reported that the water supply had gradually resumed from Wednesday evening.
